Got my first Harley and my first...
Problem. I was kind of in a hurry and Im a new rider. I let the choke out and started her up. Gave it about 30 secs and when I put choke back in it would die so I rode it a bit with the choke about half out. Anyways about 1 mile later I put hte choke all the way in and she died. When I tried to start it back up it turned over for about 1 sec and started clicking. After multiple attempts I gave up and walked her home. Heavy bike to walk a half mile. I let it charge up about an hour and still cant get it started. I was told the battery was changed 2 weeks ago and it was in good running condition. I pulled the seat and the battery is clean and terms are clean. Any suggestions where to start for noob rider? Im thinking first step would be to yank battery and take to auto zone. I did a search and read some other posts but was thinking maybe Im jsut doing something wrong being new and all. THX

If you can measure voltage at the battery with the engine running and at a fast idle somewhere around 2000 rpm's you should see around 14 + volts there.

Bragz
I had exactly the same problem with exactly the same model bike, and coincidentally exactly the same colour bike (victory red).It turned out to be the battery that was faulty, but when I removed the battery I also found the earth wire where it connects to the fram was missing the small star locking washer, which also serves as a grounding connction which bites into the metal for a good connection.I would also suggest that you check the charge rate with the motor over 2000rpm,as I found that I had a faulty voltage regulator, which probably caused the whole problem in the first place
Cheers from downunder
