Default "run" wire questions

Just wondering, how can I tell what is the "run" wire for the taillight, etc... I am installing a side mount license plate and it says to crimp on to the run wire and the ground wire for the plate light. Can I just crimp on to the brake/taillight wire since they are run lights? Any help is appreciative!

The tail light is a dual filament bulb. One is for run, one is for brake. You need to tap into the wire that is on when the bike is running. The wire you want is the Blue wire.
