I just installed a PCIII on my 05 Fatty. Bike runs great but I am not sold on the location. I tried to put it under the seat but there was just no room. Instructions wanted to put it on top of the original ECU. Didnt make sense to me to put it right on top of the heat sink.
I mounted it behind the mud guardwith tie wraps. Is this acceptable? Water, vibration?
Any other options for a protected spot?
Thoughts?

I've had mine on for a long while under the seat. Did you use the new tray?
It's OK to put it in the siren spot inside the mud guard like you did.

 

With the deeper tray mine fit perfect under the seat. It is on the ecu. Still has clearance from the seat also. Install on 05 deluxe.

 

On an 02 Fatboy I had, It also worked well with the deeper tray but I have also seen them attached with Velcro on the fender in the area where there is a bit of a recess in the seat pan.
