Plug and Play Fuel Enrichment

RE: Plug and Play Fuel Enrichment
Cruiser... he seems bound and determined to try it. I say let him and he can come back and tell us what he found out. We could do the same if we disconnect our front IED's and just run the rears.
This should be a little more interesting because he's already riched it up with the Cobra. I wonder what will happen if he goes over the 13.8 line.

RE: Plug and Play Fuel Enrichment
I think the Cobra just feeds a constant voltage to the ECM input for the 02 sensor. Making it run in open loop all the time. This is how the Dobeck style boxes work. If he puts the IED in the rear cylinder or both cylinders it will screw up the way the box works. I put on a Arlen Ness which is a gen3 TFI box on mine and from what I read on the Dobeck forum, they only feed constant voltage. Mine has 02 sensor plugs that go into and out of the box also. I think Cobra calls it a closed loop because the bike runs on a closed loop from the factory (02 sensor equipped bike) but the Cobra just eliminates it. Kind of like buying a box with 02 eliminators. I seriously doubt the Cobra uses 02 sensor input to adjust the fuel. Correct me if I'm wrong.

RE: Plug and Play Fuel Enrichment
Zevron,
To answer your question, I have installed on my 07 Ultra and am extremely pleased with performance, cooler running, and what so far has been improved fuel mileage using the Nightrider O2 IEDs. I just got them last Thurs. and Sunday was the first time to get out on the road. 188 mile trip and I am now really sold on them. I may later try the new XIEDs, but for now these are the easiest and cheapest improvement I have found.
