dude... I consistently have a P1004 error in my sportster when I fire the engine up with the power commander already powered by its own power adapter, it has nothing to do with the 02 sensors.

cheers

I have installed hundreds of pc 3s on bikes with o2 sensors. codes usually indicate a problem with the stock components. seek a qualified dynojet approved tuning center for help!

You must install the O2 sensor "bypass" plugs when you unplug the sensors. Without doing so it will throw codes. I like the idea of keeping the sensors active, am running a DTT TCFI IID which uses the sensors.

Where do you get o2 sensor "bypass" plugs?

OK, the O2 sensors allow the stock ECM to more accurately control the AFR at most engine speeds and throttle positions. Removing them and putting in bypass plugs lies to the ECM so that no adjustments are made.

Apparently the PC3 does not work consistantly well with the O2 sensors. And the stock O2 sensors are narrow band, that is they only response over a very narrow O2 range. So lieing to the ECM apparently works.

This and other concerns is why I chose Thundermax w/Autotune. Having more information for the veryu adjustable ECM to digest is always a good thing.
