Default Softail Security System Question

Hey guys im curious if anyone can tell me if the part number 68207-00a will fit on an 2005 flstfi fatboy. i called the dealer and of course they wanted to sell me the part number 68207-00d which they did end up finally telling me that the 68207-00a converted to 00b then to 00c then finally to 00d the only place i can even find the 68207-00a part number is in a google search from a pdf file of the 2003 catolog..

any ideas? i can get my hands on the 68207-00a for 50 bucks still new in box vs the 300 they want for the 68207-ood

just trying to save some bucks for other mods...

thanks in advance

chris

All that the letters mean is that Harley redesigned the part several times. The question is how much it was changed and when it was changed. If possible find a parts book that was published at the time your bike was built to see whichletter is used. Since it was still being used in 2003 it might be fine for your bike.

Watch Ebay...I paid $35 for the "D" part.
