For some reason my HD factory installed radio has simply quit working. The radio has power but no sound. I can change stations and the CD changer works...in fact I can see the counter "playing" the song, but nothing comes our of the speakers. There is no rain or water issues in the speakers. It's a 2004 Road Glide....any suggestions short of hauling it to the dealer?

 

It's gonna have to go to the dealer. They will need to send it in for a reman. radio to replace it. You've just had some circuit burn out and there probably isn't a fix for it. Is it still under warranty? If so it's covered.

 

Just a dumb question, But do you have your speaker switch in the right position??? I've seen it happen.

Sorry Thundercloud, I got into you post by mistake. Damn, I wish I would have thought of the speaker button. I hope that was his problem.

He emailed me and told me that he turned his speakers back on and they work fine. After many years as an electronic security technician and seeing some really simple things like that I usally use the KISS method, I'm sure you've heard it "Keep It Simple Stupid". Anyway I'm glad it was that simple for him.
