Road King died
Ok, 2005 Road King sitting all winter. Battery good, started it up and it ran just fine. I kept it at about 1500 rpm to let it warm up. After about 5 minutes it just went dead.. no lights, not start, no signals , no nothing. Before I put her up I filled the gas tank to the top.
I am trikle charging the batter now, it said it was at 50% but the volts measured 12.85 vdc.
suggestiongs ?
Thanks

RE: Road King died
I changed seats on my '02 FLHRi RK and had the same thing happen. THe security alarm worked though. To make a long story short, the ignition switch connector (three large spade lugs- under the console) had come unplugged due to moving the console to adjust to the new seat. I'm glad it happened because it had to be loose in the first place. Have you put a voltmeter to it?? By now (March 23), hopefully you have found the problem..... What was it? I put my money on a fuse or the main breaker...

RE: Road King died
Yep.... put in new 40 Amp fuse and fired her up. It didnt blow. What I am suspecting is the bike sat for quite sometime and when I started it the battery was low enough to be demanding full charge, and with all the lights on, and the fuse blew .. make sense??.. I put the batt on a trickle charger till I got this figured out. Warmed it up and it seems just fine.. however. I now have a duplicate of all my fuses in my saddle bags!!
Thanks for the input folks!!!
