Have a friend who lives in a highrise condo and keeps his bike in a covered ,under bldg.parking lot.(old hotel that has been remodeled for apts.).There are no outlets for a charger but it sits close to the outside door.Is a solar charger feasable to keep his battery charged up.? and where can one be found.Saw a few while surfing but nothing MC specific.(hes a Doc and doesnt get to ride enough to keep it charged up)

too much trouble to pull the seat off everytime it goes down.Initial charge ,yes but not to maintain. It has an alarm system on it and that is what drains it.

As long as the charger is 12V then it doesn't need to to have *motorcycle* stamped on it. I had one set up on a previous bike which sat in the window of my garage with a plug in lead to the battery. It is important to get a solar panel with a built in regulator so that it doesn't overcharge the battery. That way you can just plug it up directly to the battery.

I used one like this and put a cigarette lighter socket on the bike which meant I could use it for other accessories when on the road:
