Just bought a sweet 03 Dyna Wide. Got chance for a quick ride and when I came back noticed I had no head light (high or low beam) and no tail light. All worked fine when I left. ( I always check) Brake and signals work fine. Any thoughts? These two lights are not connected by a common fuse are they? BTW, I am waiting for my Service Manual to arrive. Could be up to 3 weeks and I'm hoping to have this problem solved waaayyyyy before then. Thanks.

 

Didn't take long to find the trouble. Fuse blown. After putting in a fresh one I started pulling on the harness and sure enough found a trouble spot where whoever installed the turn signal relocation kit wasn't very particular about the wiring job. It was making a short where the ball of tape was wrapped around and around and around up front by the yolk. Guess I'll spend a little while going over the rest of the harness so as to avoid any more surprises. Just thought I'd post in case it is of any help to anyone else, and save the trouble of unnesessary responses. thanks.
