There seems to be a lot of different thoughts on this subject....
having said that some of my web research has uncovered a thought that makes sense to me and is supported by some dyno back-up.
You can read here,for low and mid range,and idle improvements a transfer port between the runners seems like a workable solution.
Read and modify at your own risk etc.

You should check out the new S&S VFI with Closed Loop for MM systems. I've been running an S&S dual bore tb for for about 6 years on a 99 116" twincam. I recently added closed loop and to relocate the MAP sensor to the rear intake track. This mod makes supposedly converts the MM to the Delphi style. I can tell you the map I got from S&S was dead on for hot/cold idle once I closed the butterflyies and reset the TPS. This is the smoothest setup so far for this bike.

 

I know this is a big time old thread, but I was wondering if you still had that HPI throttle body for a MM system EVHID1? I am 106-ing my 2000FLTRSE1, and think the extra bore will help. (I could not figure out how to send a PM, I'm new...)

Can you tell me how to get throttle rod out of fuel injection throttle body. Butterfly is out, E Clip is off, now what ?

I just picked up a 96 flhri police bike with the magneti marelli injection. I since the bike was in a box or several boxes, I had to reassemble the engine, primary, etc. now that it runs good, I need to find an after market air cleaner assy for it but all I can find on arlen ness or any other is for a 99-01. my question is would this fit this evo or does any one have any suggestion. what is everyone else running on their bikes.
