Default Running lean using V&H Fuel Pak.

Does anyone know what value needs to be changed to richen up the Fuel Pak? It's for a 08 Softail with V&H Duals. I'm getting some backfiring and I don't have an exhust leak. Thanks.

I have some decel pop and receintly in cold temps the scoot will idle really low and sometimes cut off. Talked to the V&H guys and they told me to increase the Mode 23 values in increments of 3to help the problem. Can't remember what the max value was (wrote it down but too lazy to go look right now..sorry) but therecomended Mode 23value for my setup is 16. I am up to 25 now and the decel pop has increased some but occasionally still have the low idle syndrome. Getting frustrating I might add [:@]. Will change the value to 28 when I wash her next time. Rots-o-ruck to you!

The problem with Fuel Pack is that only the company has any idea what any of the adjustments really do.

If Fuel Pack can't help, you are hosed.

You are not likely gonna find out that information. I don't believe the Fuelpak works similar to a PC when it comes to which mode does what. If you are experiencing popping on decel or backfiring in decel, it may be the opposite and needing an adjustment to remove fuel. I'm not certain if the Fuelpak can remove fuel per say, but different modes will tell it when to turn off or turn on fuel.
From what I've been told by the folks @ V&H, mode 23 tells the unit when to turn the fuel back on. You can go as low as 15 and as high as 50 but I think you will find that going up may add to the popping on decel. If you keep that number low, say 15 or 16, you will have a little more of the sensation of the engine brake effect. Not too big of a deal after riding it around this way for an hour or so. Very minor and was easy to get used to, at least in my case.

just call V&H they can help you out. just indicate what rpm range and what throttle position you are at where you need richening. asking these guys on here will do you no good due to the fact they all have no idea what setting does what.

AS a general rule backfiring out the exhaust indicates a rich mix, and popping in your air cleaner means a lean mix. I think You may want to lean up a touch, change setting in mode 23 from 16 to 15.

Also, mode 23 has nothing to do with idle, I think idle is controlled by mode 16 or 17.
