I am ready to pull the trigger on a SE stage one kit. I just talked to my local dealer about the download versus the SERT. The service guy told me that Harley no longer does the downloads since 2006. Said with EPA regulations, they can only use the SERT. Has anyone heard about this or is your dealer still doing the download?

 

I might be wrong, but I think he's yankin' your crank...I just called my dealer, and they still do it.

 

Anyone else have an opinion on this? Maybe I should check with another dealer.

 

First off, Welcome aboard....Please take a moment to post an intro in the "New Members Section" at your earliest...

As far as the ECM flash, the program that the dealer can install is the "Street Legal" version... This is designed for the SEAC (SE Air Cleaner) and the SE "Legal" mufflers only... Any component changes done wil not net the required results.....

All "Race" flashes for 07 and up are on the SERT data Disc, and can only be installed with the SERT/SuperTuner..... These are designed for free flowing mufflers, like Cycle Shack, Rush, V&H, etc.... with the SEAC/SE Heavy breather units....

This is for a 08 RG with fly by wire, ABS etc etc. If they have a map for this....I'd say he's trying to bend you over
Call him him out in front of the manager and threaten to find another dealer. Maybe they'll sweeten the pot and give it to you for free. OR.... raise hell and make sure everyone knows it.
