Nightrider O2 IED's - Field Test

RE: Nightrider O2 IED's - Field Test
I appreciate all of the info. One question, I had already ordered an oil cooler for my 08 Dyna prior to ordering the IED's. I can cancel the oil cooler with no problems, but I'm debating if I shouold use both or if that would be wasted money. I'll probably get the XIEDs when they're available. I know this might sound weird, but I'm concerned that with the oil cooler and the XIEDs would the bike run too cool, as in not hot enough to evaporate condensed moisture in the case? Have any of you tried the HD cooler?
Thanks

An oil cooler will always help and it wont be overkill.
Trust me, the engine will get hot enough to take care of condensation in the oil. Just dont ride it for 5 miles then park it for 8 hours all the time.
Here in the southwest oil coolers arecheap insurance for protecting your engine.
Check with Steve < performance@nightrider.com > on the "new" ied's coming out for the 06 models.
I am a beleiver in the XIED's for baggers as a minimum. They even perform better on all 07 / 08 models.

Rider57 or cruiser
What do you think about running the xieds and a K&N air filter in stock air box with V&H slipons on my 07 RG. I am here in jersey where it does get in to the 90's but not for very long.
So i'm thinking a little more air, slipons, xieds done. No DYNO tunes or expensive fuel proccessers or electronics to go wrong . Sounds good to me.

It should be fine. With the IED's or better with the XIED's. With them on, you could probably get away and put the hi-flow kit on as well and skip the stage 1 download. The XIED's forsure. If you did this, you fuel milage may suffer a little more than stock a/c.
You should double check on if K&N makes a filter that will fit inside the stock air box. I've never seen one? I could be wrong, I've only seen them in the Hi-flow kits. Maybe someone else can answer that?

Yes I have seen K&N filters for the stock air box. Some one had even posted the air flow differance between that and stock as well as stage 1 se and K&N stage 1.
I am just thinking a little better air flow, Richen up the fuel w/XIEDs, tuned slipons for sound as well as performance, and you have a good running powerfull 96 inch bagger doing what its supposed to do.

What about the new IED,from the night rider site (ViED is an experimental new variable ratio IED for all model bikes, allowing AFR’s from 14.5 to 13.6). I have the IED's but was thinking about the XIED's but now I'm wondering about the next version. Any one know anything???
