I just installed the O2 IEDs on my UC. The installation was fairly simple. I haven't been able to test it on the road because my seat is at Mean City Cycles until later this week. The installation instructions were adequate; but didn't say what part of the wire could be bent and what shouldn't be bent. I remembered from the Forum the the stiff middle portion should not be bent sharply. Is if OK if the unsheathed wires at the connectors are sharply bent?

You are correct, do not bend the heavy middle portion.

I went on a 300 mile trip Saturday to the desert and the temps were in the 70's. On the 100 mile trip back it was in the low 60's to upper 50's and we made it non stop. Checked the temps when I got home and the front cylinder was 286° and the rear cylinder was 343°. I do have a problem with the rear cylinder running hotter as the chrome heat shield at the top end is turning color. Also check out this pic I took today after I washed the bike. The rear cooling fins show heat damage????

diebolt, I'd be interested in finding out what that discoloration turns out to be cause I've got exactly the same setup ordered for my new bike - SE a/c, download, Ovals and the IED's. I'm still a little worried it'll run too hot. Let us know what you find out.

dropone,
I don't know what it is from.
I just guessed it was from heat because the rear chrome heat shieldthat covers the crossover pipeshows sign of heat discoloration.
The bike was only washed once at the dealership at the 1000 mile service and this trip was 100 miles right after that.
The bike did not get washed since it was picked upnew, only detailed after each ride with Harley Gloss. So I don't know how it could be water stains.
