Nightrider O2 IED's - Field Test

RE: Nightrider O2 IED's - Field Test
Ok, I'm in.
Found the link here or on V-Twin forum. Read all the info on Nightrider site and the comments here. That was enough to convince me to cough up the $75 bucks.
07 Ultra, purchased 4/28/07, now with 9900 miles on her. Bike is totally stock engine/exhaust/AC/fuel wise, have no plans to get into the stage 1 or any other engine mods at this time. I love the sound of the stock pipes. Heat was an issue last summer and purchased RJ's heat shields which work well. I took them off this winter as I prefer the look without them and the heat was nice this winter.
I was considering going with a Fuelmoto PCIII Mapped for Stock...I think i just saved a few hundred bucks! Put the IED's on Monday nite, a 10 min job at best. Easy as pie.
Road yesterday 70 miles to work and back. Noticeable improvement in response. I had not noticed the engine hesistation/sputter at slow cruise (as referred to here) untiil it was gone. Temps here yesterday were damn cold in the monring (23 when I left the house) and not really hot enough in the afternoon to note any heat reduction. Today is supposed to be low 70's so on this afternoon's ride home I may be able to feel some difference. Hopefully I can sell my sheilds this summer.
I was an early adopter on the IDS, and that was the best purchase for the bike to date. This is right up there in improved rideability.
I'm a believer and a happy camper.

RE: Nightrider O2 IED's - Field Test
One more update. SE Slip-ons (modified by me), KN HD1499 Air filter, IED's and Stage 1 HD Download....
Life is good. Bike runs quite well now with the download added. Pulls from 1500 rpm in 6th without the chugging it had before. Revs out on top nicely - found the 6200 rpm limiter. No pinging that I could notice. Although I only rode it about 10 miles, most of it was freeway 60 - 85 mph and it got hot enough to ping if it was gonna. Pulls a little harder, but I forgot to calibrate my butt dyno this morning so I don't have any real numbers. Don't have a thermometer either. My legs tell me it's cooler - that's good enough for me.
I give this combo a big thumbs up. [sm=smiley20.gif]
The dealer (Chester's in Mesa AZ) had me in and out in about 40 minutes. Cost was $201.

RE: Nightrider O2 IED's - Field Test
First ride of the year...a short 3 mile ride...with the IED'S and Stage1 download,K&N,SE2's w/BCT baffles on 06 Street Bob. Seemed about the same at low speeds...no noticable loss of low end grunt..midrange power seemed much smoother with slightly better throttle response. Ran it pretty hard up to about 80 with no decel pop when backing down. The real nice thing is that i don't seem to have the slight hesitation/lurching at low speeds now. Over all, i'm very happy with this modest investment...time and a few more rides will give me a better handle on things....and oh yeah..the Thunder baffles sound REAL nice!

It shouldn't void the warranty.
You'd be far better off to buy a pair of Nightrider IED's for $69, than to spend $200 for the download.
