I had a friend come over yesterday and put his 02 IED in the XL1200 Nightster, and wala what a difference. NO more mid range surge, better throttle response, and all for $50, I don't see how you can go wrong. the bike has 1200 miles and is still stock, but what a difference.

EFI 101 is a great idea.

Default Bumblebee and XiED

The bumblebee can not fly because aerodynamics says it cannot.
The XiED will not work correctly on HDs because Glens says it cannot.
Please give me break. GLENS HAS NOT TRIED OR TESTED THEM. After his comments, there is little doubt he could not give them a fair test anyway.
He is assuming that because 13.8 AFR is just off the linear response curve of a NBO2 that the XiEDs cannot work. As usual, he manage to gather many of the pieces and never put the puzzle together. 13.8 AFR was carefully choosen because of its 825 to 850mV output under normal operating conditions, leaving enough headroom for the engineering spec 1000mV limit of an NBO2 sensor to work with the expected control limits of the HD ECM for adjusting closed loop mixture. If you measure an HD NBO2 sensor you will find it typically puts out 1050 to 1100 mV around 12.5 AFR under normal operating temp. Unlike Glens I tested the XiEDs extensively before I realized that bumblebees can fly.

Andy, I would be very intrested in a thread titled EFI 101, PROVIDING we are given factual, documented information, in terms that we all can understand. Not someones conjecture or theory of how they interpret its workings.

Bumblebees can fly because their wings move at huge rpms. When you put IED's on them, they will have more torque in the middle range too. And with XiED's they'll even produce honey when cruising just&nbsp\\;above stall-speed.

The NBO2 sensors have error rates of greater than 1150mv on the output. This relate to an AFR of 12.5:1

They are not lab grade components. Closer tolerances are imposiible as no 2 bikes are the same.
