BADFINGER,

Good to see your post. I just put the XIED on my new 08 UC ( pretty easy install) and wondered how they would do on a completely stock bike. I haven't had time to ride it since installing them and its killing me!
Ithink I am going to puton some slips ons of some kind, and maybe a AC, but that is it. It runs so muchstronger than my ol' EVO that I can't imagine needing any more power (at leastfor now[sm=confused06.gif])

The Gen 2 is easier to bend in the middle as the area you can't bend is smaller.

The generation 2 XIED is built the same way as the original IED. The process of building it is less expensive and thus the cheaper price. The Generation one XIED was built using a better construction method, they were more costly to build but worth the extra price in my opinion.

Last week I bought a 2008 EGC with ABS. After riding 400+ miles last
Sunday I understand what the fuss is about with the new m/c's being
so hot. Much hotter than the 06 EGC I just soldbefore the engine mods.

After reading every post in this thread I just ordered the IED as I plan
to keep this bike stock for a while. If I do head, cams, big bore it will be
in the fall or winter. I don't like to break engines in hot weather.

Wouldn't it be nice to keep a bike stock for a change??? I do like the less
noise and cd and I never thought you catch me saying that. Who knows
I actually may buy a chrome front end and wheels by not doing engine mods.

If I change pipes I will put the SE one piece touring pipes on.I had those
on the 06EGC and liked them. I guess if I go to the SE pipes I will get the XIED.

The only concern I have with stock is that I usually hit the rev limiter too often.

Thanks for a great thread,
Woodreaux
