ORIGINAL: MCSarge

This is a 2001 Heritage not an 08. I am out of ideas at this point
I realize that, it was plainly stated in the original post, just trying to help.... can never tell they may work the same

And there was also someone with an 08 who asked about theirs also...

Thanks for the ideas Mcsarge. I think that your fob is buttonless Strawdog. I tried a variation of your suggestion without no luck. Thanks for your input I'm willing to try anything which may result in me taking it to the local Harley dealer. I hope they dont try and tell me that my transmission is bad or something like that. I'd rather get mugged in the parking lot.......Thanks.....Neal

Mcsarge, Strawdog. I took my bike into HD today and the tech called me 10 minutes later and told me that they had ordered the correct smartsiren but were sent the wrong one, twice. They ordered the right one and it should be in this week. I hope they dont plan on charging me for figuring that out. Thanks for your help and imput .........Neal

Any chance of posting the correct part number for the siren that fixed the problem and if you have the incorrect part number too for the wrong siren that was in there. I have a bud that has the same problem with his system, it's been driving him nuts.

The correct part number is 68319-06, that number was on the box. The incorrect unit that was sent is 68328-06. I'll see if that one works when it comes in

There are too different sirens available for the HD security system and
the part numbers are the same except for the last 2 digits (02 & 06).
The smart siren II (06) is the one that does have an audible chirp when setting and disarming the system, while the smart siren does not. The smart siren II also has an antenna where the other doesn't.

After weeks of messing with this and HD insistied that the smartsiren would work, even thought Latus HD parts Mgr told themthem that it definitely does not work, We discovered that the smartsiren #68319-06 is not compatable with TSSM #68207-00 and that in order to use a smartsirenII i need to update my TSSM to #68207-00D for $269. The parts Mgr was awesome, heoffered to work with mme on the $269 plus forgo the labor, even though the problem is with HD. I decided to justswap my smartsiren II forthe smartsiren 1 and forget about the pager. I guess i just need to carry a Louiville slugger when i park my bike.
Thanks for all of your imput and help with this problem...
