I had purchased seac and se pro pipes for my 08 softail Custom. Turns out the pipes were only good for 00 - 06 softails. The dealer recommended Khrome Werks 3" HP+ and man do they sound sweet! The stage 1 download they used was p/n 34454-07D/DT. Does anyone know exactly what this is? I have seen 34454-07A/DT and 34454-07B/DT on the forum before, but never 34454-07D/DT. Is this the "legal" or "race" download? Or does "race" even exist anymore?

I'm interested in your post and would like to see someone from an H-D dealership (like a qualified tech) to respond to this.

My interest is based on the fact that if a dealer can randomly 'install' a 'Stage I'ECM load (which is nothing more than a basic map variation for better breathing), then why can't that same dealer do a full dyno tune without having to spend the $$$ for a SERT?

If the SERT dongle marries to the ECM/bike VIN, and according to my dealer, they don't have a special un-coded H-D tech only dongle, how is it that they can program this Stage I load into the ECM?

After buying my own SERT and asking a few questions about a dyno at three or four dealers, I'm wondering if this whole basic Stage I thing is a load of marketing crap-ola.

Normally the A,B,C suffix to a part # indicates a revision. I would guess that that stage 1 download for the 07 bikes has been modified a few times.

 

Is 34454-07D/DT the current "legal" stage 1 download for an 08 softail??

Bob, they both share the same part number, yet, it's describing two different configs - one with exhaust; one without. What gives??? I have a SERT, so, it really doesn't matter to me. However, it's confusing.

The baffling for the "new" SE muffs is consistent with the stock config... they are of a "EPA Compliant" design....

It is a "Legal" dl for the AC unit only.. no cal required forthe back end of the loop, just the intake side.....

 

Aaaaah...gotcha. Too bad, really.
