cruise control module 03 FLHTCUI
Having intermitent cruise control issues. It will work fine and then work occassionally and then not at all. Had it to a dealer and they did all their checks (roll off, cables, brakesetc) and still does the same thing. I found a new module at a good price and figured I would put that on and see if it does the trick. Iunderstand the module islocated under the left side cover......any thing I should know about replacingor is it simply unplug the existing unit and plugging the new one in or should I have the dealer intall? Would appreciate any help. Thanks-Jim

You might take a look at this thread to see if it helps diagnose your problem:

Ask the dealer parts guy to print out the installation instructions for PN 77182-02; this is the HD cruise kit for FLHT and FLHTC, and is the same unit that's on you FLHTCU. It will tell you what's involved.
Since the cruise module operates a cable connected to the throttle, you will disconnect the one already on your bike and reconnect the new one when the replacement module is installed. The installation instructions will also contain a parts breakdown; if it includes a small "c" clip (as mine did for my '04 EG) for attaching the cable to the throttle, buy a couple extra at the dealer since these are easily lost in failed attempts to install itand can interrupt the installation while the clip is located or, if not located,a trip to the dealer for a replacement--they're cheap job interruption insurance and can be returned later if not needed.
