Main circuit breaker location?

Main circuit breaker location?
Anyone know where the main circuit breaker is, on a 93 Ultra?
It is not in the fuse box.
Since my bike is over 10 years old, the dealer that I bought it from said they will NOT work on it any longer. AND the techs that I have talked to, do not know the location of the main circuit breaker.
Here is (as they say) the rest of the story.
I can ride as long as I want, as long as I do not let the bike get hot. If it gets hot, ALL the electrical shuts down. Everything, dash, radio, lights, and of course the bike. Push it to the side of the road, let it cool (reset the breaker?) and it's off to the races again. (until it gets hot again)
I did manage to talk to one tech, that said it was one of three things. The main circuit breaker being the most probable cause. But he did not know exactly where it is.
Any help with the location of this critter, or ideas on what else may be causing this, would be appreciated.
Thanks........a newbie.....to the forum.

RE: Main circuit breaker location?
I'm think'in it's time to move on to a different service department. Sounds to me the guys in that shop are very inexperienced. If they didn't learn it in school ... they just didn't learn it. I would have some problem with taking my bike to such a place...even ifit was brand new...or should I say ... especially ifit was brand new!
Ya can't say enough about an experienced mechanic, technician or for that matter ...service department. Sadly, they are getting harder and harder to find.

On that year model, I think the main breaker is on the right side just under the battery
Can't believe some shop gave you that drivel about 'not working on a scoot less than 10 years old'.... I would avoid that place [:@]

I have a 1999 Ultra and its on the front of the battery box on inside. You must remove the battery. On the 1999's the had an update to a 50ohm circuit breaker. It was just for the problem you have expericened. Don't know if yours would be the same or not. Buy a service manual for your bike. It worth every penny.

THANK YOU
THANK YOU
THANK YOU.
Sure enough, took the battery out, then on the right side, there it was. Replaced it, now I will have to wait until the snow and ice to get off the driveway, so I can test it out.
I know.......I'm a woosy, but I lost the chains I had for it, and I don't have studded tires. LOL
It's those Colorado Rocky Mountains, ya know.
In defense of the dealer and people I talked to. I mistakenly said I had talked to techs. I only talked with the service mangers, which everyone knows, most don't know diddly about working on bikes. One of the service managers had taked with a tech, and that person is who told me of the three possibilities, to cure the problem. But still didn't know where it was.
But it is true that the service managers said that they will NOT take in a bike over 10 years old, to work on. I called 2 of the dealers in town, and got the same responce. The dealers are....

That is where I bought it.

Is the other dealer that said they will NOT accept ANY bike over 10 years old.
What is up with Harley, when they will not work on THEIR product, just because it's over 10 years old. NOT a good customer "service" policy, in my books.
Again THANKS for the help.

Of course while I was there I just had to have that new 2008 FLSTC anniversary addition that was in the showroom......[&:] So when I picked up the 92 it was sold a week later and I am paying payments for a while again.[8D]

many thanks for the info, I found it easily, replaced the 40A by a 50A, it works almost like a charm ! Well, when riding with all three lamps lit (plus the rear accessories) for several hours, and after having stopped at a red traffic light, it did the now well-known complete electrical shutdown. But that was the only time.
Thanks to this forum (and others to make sure of the cause). I found out that Ultras from 1999-2000 years had been called back to replace the main circuit breaker, but the HD responsible and mechanics around here did not know anything about it...
And I struggled during 3 years stalling on the roads - at least never when passing a truck !...
Nice riding to all !
