Engine not starting, got fuel but no fire
I have a 2001 FXST Softail Standard, carbureted with HD security module(TSSM). I installed new clutch, brake, throttle & idle cables. I had the battery disconnected for a few days & have a new, fully charged battery. The motor cranks fine, got fuel to carb but I have no fire from coil & I see no voltage from ECM to coil input. I have a service manual & owners manual but no electrial diagnostics manual. The alarm will set & works correctly. I am not sure what voltage I should see from sensors (CKP, MAP, BAS) to electronic module or turn signal secure module. Any help or tips would be appreciated.
Thanks, Keith

RE: Engine not starting, got fuel but no fire
My friends EG was doing the same thing and we talked to a local wrench who said to take the right side switches loose and spray them with contact cleaner or wd40 or the like. Believe it or not, it worked. Seems as if he has a problem with the off/run switch. May not be your cure but it's worth a look. Hope it helps

so how did it work out with your starting problems? I think I'm having the same thing happen. Went riding and then I shut off the bike, went to go ride later on and my Fatboy would not start. I changed the spark plugs and wires, the coil and the battery. Still no spark in the plugs? Did you come across the same problem
