pc111 vs hd warranty

RE: pc111 vs hd warranty
PC III is an add on and can always be removed if you take the bike in for repair or service. The SERT uses the factory ecm. The T-Max and the DTT are ecm replacements that might or might not cause some warranty problems. How much hassel you getreally depends on the dealership; some of the dealerships will install the SERT or PC III and warrant the install. Others will tell you that either one will kill the warranty. So check out the local dealerships and see what their position is on the PC III and SERT, especially if you are going to rely on them for all of your service and support. There is the Magnusson Moss act that states that the dealers must show that the customer’s use of an aftermarket item directly caused or contributed to what ever damage that was sustained in order for the dealer to deny the customers warranty. Using one of the complete ecm replacements like the T-max or the DTT might give the dealer a little more wiggle room. That being said, I am using a T-Max on my bike and it works great. I do not to use the dealership, other than to buy parts. It is much easier to service the bike myself, I save money and I am the one that is in control of the job quality assurance.
