The only problem I had was the starter itself, and the compression release valves. Once those were replaced...starts right up..first time you hit the button. No drag, no coughing, nothing but quick start. My issues were never due to PCIII. I have an 07 Ultra SE.

Turn the ignition on and hit the start button. Don't worry about any indicator lights going out first, that doesn't matter and has no adverse effect.
If you do wait, then you have to turn the engine over a couple times to energize the PCIII prior to engine start.
Agreed it can be an annoyance but once you get into the habit of immediately hitting start when you turn the bike on it quickly becomes a non issue.
