Default SERT--DOES work with Vista!

I didn't tryto connectbefore-hand to see if I had a problem, but go into your Program Compatibility Wizard, use either the find programor manual search to find the Tuning Mode and Data Mode (you'll have to do them 1 at a time), click Next, and then select XP to make them compatible, and go through the rest of the steps.

I don't know if it also helped, but I connected everything, then turned on the laptop, and then ran Tuning Mode, then went through the Program ECM steps to get ECM info and to program the ECM. I din't have a single hiccup with any of this.

Also, since my laptop doesn't have a serial port, I had already installed a USB-Serial adapter and selected the appropriate COM port in the SERT program.

So you were able to actually program your ECM using Vista? Not look at the ECM info using Vista, but actually program the ECM...ie reflash/flash? Correct?

Yup. I even disconnected and reconnected to verify the new calibration was on there. I'm going to work with Data Mode this weekend.

hmmmm.I wonder why. My laptop is a brand new Dell 1520. Maybe it has a new edition of Vista? I have no idea. I just know mine works.
