06 FLHTCI Brake light fuse
Greetings all,
New member here. I've been going through brake light fuses like crazy. Sometimes a new fuse will last a couple weeks, sometimes a couple of miles. I've tried checking around the bike but haven't found anything unusual. Left it at the dealer for warranty work, and naturally, unable to duplicate. Half way home and the fuse blew again. Something's grounding out somewhere to cause 15 amps worth of fuse to blow. Any ideas?
Thanks...

First off.. Welcome aboard.... Go to the New Members Section and please post an intro....
Take a look at your Rear brake switch assy..... It's probably grounding out on the chassis...
It is located on the rear of the main frame at the bottom with 2 wires going to it...

Checked the rear brake light switch - clipped the tie wrap and pulled the switch wires away from the frame expecting to find chafed insulation. Wire insulation was good, heat shrink tubing around individual wires was good, and single tube protecting both wires was good. Just for good measure, wrapped the switch and wires real good with electrical tape and secured back to the frame with a new tie wrap.
Also pulled off the rear brake/tail lens cover to look for shorting wires - all OK in there too. Got out my trusty service manual to read up on the front brake switch. Hope the problem isn't in there. 150 miles later, the fuse is holding up after wrapping the rear switch with electrical tape. Not going to pull apart the front switch housing just yet.
Thanks for the input....
