Default No SERT for 99' Ultra?

I went to the nearest HD dealership on thursday (300 milesone way) and was told there is no SERT for the early 99' to 01' efi. I think they called them Marionelli EFIs. Does anyone know any different or should I just go out and buy a PC III?

Marionelli (M & M) is the type of fuel injection the 99 thru 02 hd's ran. I've got the same thing and have had no problems with mine. Harley just came out with the kit (listed in the above posts) this year. Does wonders for your bike.

Magnetti Marrelli,

Italian fuel injection like the one used on Moto Guzzis and other Italian bikes of the same era.

Wally, the way it was explained to me by the HD guy today, was that the upload HD did to my bike when i did the stage I was crap, and that the race tuner was 10 times better. My problem, as I have told you, is that I just don't trust the brainwashed HD rep's. Maybe he is telling me the truth, but I have to ride one before i can say.

Joe,

I wouldn't tell ya wrong man (I'm not a dealer remember (MC not Dope)). The race tuner is the way to go. You can do all kinda things with it and it will keep up with your upgrades. Everytime you upgrade (pipes or motor work) they will just retune your bike using the same Race Tuner. Your initial download will be on their computer (and yours if you are smart) and they will just tweak it or change it, whatever it needs. The amount of time needed depends on how good your dealer is. We've all determined that the download is crap. I think sometimes the dealers just sell it to you because it is easier to sell than the SERT because of the price. Here is what my mechanic told me last week. The downloads worked pretty well until 05 when they started noticing problems with popping and lurching on SOME bikes. In 06 they just don't work at all.

Thanks for the reassurance Terry. It looks like HD is going to get another $650.00 CAD out of me.[:@]

That's a good question Terry, I never asked because we were talking about a bunch of upgrades. I will call in the morning to find out.

I am still leaning to buying the tuner, and going to a local wrench for this winters motor upgrades. HD is just too expensive, and I just don't trust them. Today I went in for a big bore, cam, heads etc quote, and when i asked him for a cam gear change from chains, he said "I don't recommend that" Right away, I thought, are all HD employees banned from talking about an S&S product. This came out the mouth of a guy who I respected.
