I am having charge problems on my 93 electra glide sport. I think I have it narrowed down to the regulator,and was wondering what voltage a regulator puts out when it is not hooked up to the battery. thanks in advance.

 

Voltage regulator should be showing 13.5-14.2 roughly across the battery terminals when the bike is running.

 

I am more interested in the voltage without the battery hooked up.

 

The regulator should draw .5 Milliamperes if your doing the draw test. Your stator should draw about 32-40 volts doing the output test. Voltage regulator without load should never exceed 15 volts.
