i have a 2003fatboy with efi.
lately it doesnt start like it used to.
it cranks but doesnt start the first time.
then onthe second or third try it start like normal
with what i call an explosion.
fuel pump made a funny noise a couple of times.
if i turn the ignition on an off a few times before starting,it starts right up. any ideas would be helpful.

 

Sounds like the fuel rail pressure regulator, or the pump itself. That's a dealer test unless you can rig a pressure gauge on the fuel tank outlet to the throttle body...
