I have a 1986 Heritage. I purchased used in 05. Ever since, I have consistantly had electricial troubles. Mainly with buring up plugs. Currently, the bike will start but sputters and barks and if try to ride, it dies. I have installed a new ignition switch, coil, and plugs but to no avail. Any suggestions?

 

Have you taken it to a HARLEY Tech.? Or a at least a no name shop that works on HARLEYS? It sounds like trash in your Carb. or float sticking, has it been sitting up and not been rode for a while? It could be bad gas or try new set of plugs and wires (cheap $12.00 plug wires, $15.00 Trip. Plat. plugs) and empty out old gas and put fresh high octane in it, thats as far as I could get for you, have you made sure battery is good and tight? GOOD LUCK! LET ME KNOW WHAT YOU FIND!
