I read a lot of the different forums on the net and only find a few people with pinging problems but they range through all the years.

I have an 07 with a thndermax w/autotune and no pinging.

Now mileage that is another story but I am working on fixing that slowly

Are you sure yer runnig a good grade premium gas ?

Did you do the base map program, check the closed loop mode boxand plug the cord for auto tune in ? Does yer afr's run aroud 13or so.
I've installed 2 and never had a pinging problem.

Call Zippers technical suppostand have the computer hooked up to the bike so they can talk to you.

when you say plug the cord for auto tune in do you mean the data link cord from the auto tune to the connector that Harley uses to down load to the Harley ecm?

On the second TM Install I did on my buddy's bike. Say I forgot it because I'm on High Blood pressure medicine and it makes me forgit.
But say you have a Dyna. on the front side of the fuse box there's s cord there with a cover on it. That is where the auto tune cord for the TM plugs into. If you don't plug into that cord, auto tune don't work.

The plug is just above the TSSM module if I remember right.

This is one of the issues I have with replacing a perfectly good ECM with one that eliminates some capabilities. The stock H-D ECU has ion sensing for preignition detection. When it senses that it backs off the timing. I believe if I ever get to the point where I am tuning my own closed-loop bike I will use one of the products that retains the stock ECH but allows adjustment to any desired AFR (such as the LC1 WBO2 upgrade).

I'd much rather have some deccel popping than pinging anyday.

I had the factory Ecm, even had the Sert and had it dyno tuned.
The 07 bikes has catlyst converters in the mufflers, the air breather is stopped up. The 1st thing I did was go with D&D pipes and the Se High flow air kit and the sert, dyno tuned. I had problems with the sert. I left the sert and had a dude that has been with Zippers for over 15 yrs to install the TM A/t on my bike. You have to give it time to tune. But the TM is one of the best things I ever did to my bike.

i've looked at most of the forums and noticed this also, but it tend to be with modded bikes. What you going to do with it besides the TMAT?

I have a completely stock 07 street glide, rush slip on and a big sucker no other mods. I have a pinging problem off idle that I cannot get rid of. I have called zippers many times and basically they have told me I just need to keep messing with it. I have taken so much timing out of the low end that I now have acceleration problems. I like the TMAX but if I cannot get this ping solved I may be forced to choose something else and get rid of it.
