i am wondering how someone goes about doing there own efi mapping at home, what is inolved and what is needed. i have carburations figured out, but not sure about efi. i would like to do all my own mapping if this is feesalbe.

Others will be along with more information. The first thing you will need is some kind of fuel management, either SERT or PC III seem to be the most popular. There is a lot of good information here and a lot of helpful people as well. You can get close DIY but depending on your setup you may be better off having it tuned on a Dyno. Get a copy of your map and then you can tweak it further if needed.
I have a SERT and have read everything i can on it and I'm slowly getting a handle on things. I too came from carbs and this EFI stuff is like Greek to me.
