Default Voltage regulator?

I'm not sure if this is in the right section, it is an electrical issue. I have a 92 FLSTF carb equipped. I do feel kind if left out with all this MAPPING and tuning going on in the newer bikes, anyhow...Now that it is dark enoughon the morning drive to work here in Alaska I have noticed that my headlight occasionally gets very bright for a second or two then goes back to normal. Is this a sign that my voltage regulator is going? Could it be something else easier/cheaper to check?

Default RE: Voltage regulator?

Jeff, it could be as simple as a bad ground. If I was you I'd take it to Ron Harvey's shop there in Palmer and have him put a volt meter on it to test your alt and regulator.
