Question Double-tap to Quickly Start (?)

I have noticed recently that my bike requires way more revolutions to start from a cold start these days than I recall in the past. Cold start meaning first start of the day; same story if it's sitting over night or sitting for a few days

I turn it on, the fuel pump primes, then I lean on the start-button - just like always. Except lately it'll take 6~8 revolutions before firing-up. Ordinarily (as in all years past) it would take just 2~3 revolutions to fire-up. Battery is fine and the bike cranks strong - just takes more cranking than in the past.

I also found that if I initially hit the start button briefly causing just 1~2 revolutions, and then press and hold it again to start the bike it will fire-up in about 2 revolutions pretty consistently.

Bike is a 2018 CVO Street Glide with 72K well-maintained miles.

Any experience with this type of situation and/or direction on what to explore would be appreciated!

Line leak inside the tank. Check fuel pressure. Make sure it holds after the pump stops.

Perhaps fuel pressure check valve not holding pressure.

Once it starts, if you turn it off does it start up normally the rest of the day?

Once I get the bike running, the remaining starts within a few hours are fine. For example when running errands or making a few stops throughout the day.

As Max mentioned above, check the fuel pressure, and then see if it bleeds off too quickly.

There is a temperature sensor that can cause some problems, but that uisually sets a DTC code.

Thanks guys - appreciate the feedback and guidance.

I’ll be picking-up a fuel pressure sensor and digging into this issue.
