Road king low idle issue
Hey guys, new here, I have a 2001 road king classic with 88 ci motor, when motor gets warmed up, it idles very low! Looks like the hot idle screw is all the way out, is there a correct adjustment (amount of turns for the screw after it touches the blade) I don’t have a tach hooked up so I guess I will adjust by ear! Thanks for any info!!
BTW the bike is all stock except for slip ons and air filter

yes the bike is new to me, I’ve had it a couple weeks, the bike runs great on cold start and running down the road, it just hot idles real low. The hot idle screw was not even touching the throttle blade stop, that makes me think it has been backed out. That’s why I wondering if there is a certain amount of turns on that screw!

I suspect you are just new to harley. You would have to buy a portable tach to check it. I never bothered, but wouldn't mind having one.
If the bike idles without giving it throttle once warmed up, I would call it good. If it idles with the choke out, when cold, I would call it good.
Buy a factory manual. You can find old ones on ebay for older bikes cheap. Not sure it will give you set # turns. But good to have.
