Default Fuel Moto Micro Tuner

I've had my Ultra 2.5 years and never had the seat off. Today I discovered this. The bike is stock mechanically as far as I know, except for gutted cat. I added factory touring CVO mufflers. (replaced Neighbor Haters) I have a "stage 1" air cleaner that I plan to install, but that's all. I read up on this unit and not convinced it does any good. Looks like it adjusts injector pulse depending on TPS input. Don't know what kind of map is in it, but the bike runs OK as is, so I'm guessing it's not tuned far from stock. Gets 42-43 mpg. Runs a bit hot in summer but I think all stock 103's do. Other than that the bike runs well. What say the forum, keep the tuner or remove? Also what is the burned looking plug next to the tuner? Shouldn't it have a connector plugged in? Or a cap on the end?

The FM Micro Tuner is essentially a Dynojet Power Commander V with fuel control only. It uses injector drivers and can adjust +250 -100% fuel from the base injector pw, it holds multiple tunes & uses PC-V maps. Very solid device for Stage 1 applications. You can use the Dynojet Power Core software or download FM specific software from our website here>> https://www.fuelmotousa.com/p-28236

It's my favorite bike. And yes spring 2023 it hit 30,000 miles. Here are some pics. I installed Cyco shoes and new inner cam bearings. Checked oil pump, installed new breathers and Rockouts. Plus plugs, wires, etc.. The bike runs great.

Teardown

Cyco shoes installed

Rocker covers, pushrod tubes, lifter blocks polished

Ready to roll

I went with the improved ones (Torrington I believe) I only ride this bike < 2,000 miles a year so I didn't want to spend a ton of $$ if not required. Oil pump, cams, lifters, rockers all good so I re-used. The old shoes were about half worn through. And still in one piece but broke apart while I was removing them.
