Default Testing for Spark on M8 touring

Apologies for any mistakes I will make this is my first post. Just rebuilt engine on my 17 FLTRXS, trying to get first start and not getting any spark from any plug as far as I can tell. Engine will crank over, has compression, all connections are secure, bought a new battery, tested continuity on spark cables, checked resistance on crank position sensor but not getting any spark. Sprayed some starting fluid in spark plug hole and tried to start with no boom. All worked before this, also bough some generic inline ignition spark plug tester at auto part store which showed nothing is sparking but not sure this would show it anyways? Will just crank over but not do anything. Unsure of what I can look at at this point? Any help is appreciated and I have more info if there's questions.

Welcome to the forum from Texas! Since this is your first post, you’ll get clobbered by introductions. You should make an introduction in the Welcome Area per your registration email.

I used the old school method. I test spark by pulling the plug, leaving it plugged in, putting the threads against metal (making sure the sparky end isn’t near anything flammable nor against metal to arc), and then cranking the bike. I’m able to see spark this way. It helps if it’s dark.

I do not recommend using this method. Use at your own risk.

I should add, I believe everything on bike is working at this point BUT the spark plugs. I am trying to trace issue back to problem but not finding much. Continuity on spark cables, there is no spark happening from inline tester I have. Will test resistance on ignition coils today. What could potentially stop my bike from sparking? Crank position sensor, cabling, ECM I'm trying to go through what I know

Check your fuses, make sure that they are all good.

Great idea, that panel that protects the smaller fuses is a pain to get off but I'll check fuses and also try pulling fuel fuse and check compression on engine to make sure that's all good.

Don`t leave the spark plug hole open, if the bike doesn`t sense compression the ignition system will not spark.

Looked at fuses over lunch and those all look good. @paulmedford you mean on the connection going into the ignition coil?
