Default PowerVision Error.

Hello all, got a question about a powervision tune file. Is there a way to update a tune file for a newer model? I have a 2007 StreetBob with a dyno tune that I want to upload to my buddies bike (he already has a tune license) since he has the same mods as me.

I have a 2007 street bob and he has 2013 street bob. Both have 96ci engines, same cams, intake, exhaust. We just put in cams in his bike tonight and he chose the same cams that I have and figured he can use my tune since he has an identical bike.. or so i thought...is there a way to convert an "older" tune to a "newer" tune?

Update your power vision software on your laptop then update the PV2B.. Once that's done then go back and download your tune that's currently on your bike and because everything else was updated it should ask you if you want to update the tune once you try to open it in your software. At that point updat and you should be able to then send it to the other bike once the tune is updated.. I have never used one PV-2b to tune two bikes.. I have never messed with purchasing another license to do that.. Maybe somebody else will chime in for that aspect..

The ECMs are different, causing the error. Base maps for 2007-2011 Dyna are made for your bike, and 2012-2015 Dyna base maps for his.
You can copy/paste the VE & timing tables from your map to a base map made for his ECM, then flash it in his bike, and run a few auto tune sessions to dial it in for his setup.

I might try to mess around with copy and pasting them tables. For now I emailed Dynojet and they were super cool and gave me a map for the se255 cams for now.. hopefully i can make the dyno tune work but at least we can start and ride the bike now

even though the mods are the same the VE is going to be different due to other factors inherent to the engine itself., Start with the base map they gave you and do a dyno tune. Thats better but i know its a bit more expensive.
