Ignition Advance

So does max timing mean more power as long as there is no detonation? Or are you using ETs@Speed to set timing?

Gentlemen, bulldog1776 has an EFI CONVERTED TO MIKUNI, same as me. There is no rocket science, no ET@Speed and no tables to set. It's pure and simple Stand Alone Ignition System, no VOES, no MAP. Just ride it with as much advance the engine will take. When ya get detonation (ping) back off a little.

Unfortunately tho, unless you can find one NOS, the SE Race Ignition tuner, 32124-04B, is not available anymore. I got lucky and found one online, unmarried, for like $100! I know there is a place that can unlock married ones and I have offered to let my go to anyone that needs/wants one but no one seems to get/understand the benefit of one over a replacement ICM with presets such as this.
I haven't done it and it would require wiring in an oem ICM for a carbed bike from that era with a MAP sensor or VOES. Preferrably MAP sensor. I'm sure it could be done tho. While I'm sure it works satisfactorily, 8 preset combinations of ignition timing is not ideal.

Yes, but with an SE Ignition Race Tuner and an OEM ICM, there IS tables and separate tables for each cylinder at that. A much better option imo. You can tweak each individual cell, for each cylinder separately, to within 1/10 of a degree just like you can an ECM with the PV or TTS or SEPST/SERT.

Whatever Max...you know as well as I do the difference is significant. Looking at canned maps that also come with the SE Race Ignition Tuner and made for SE performance cams of that era, the two cylinders can vary by as much as 5 degrees one way or the other. One area the rear has more advance, another it has less. It's why I went back to using it over a TwinTec TC88 for a carbed bike where the only option is a 3 degree offset one way.

Looks like some of the kids here never had and older bike with only a centrifugal spark advance. VOES came in 78/79 with the new electronic trigger and was updated to a MAP Sensor for the "Modern Electronics." FYI - 2007 ALL HD's went EFI. Therefore NO CARB MODEL, so there never was a SE adjustable module for them, BIG EPA violation.

Who said anything about an SE adjustable module? I said ICM(Ignition Control Module) It's the stock electronic ignition carbed bikes came stock with in that era just before EFI. The SE Race Ignition Tuner just hooks to this ICM temporarily to allow changing the timing in this ICM.
Just pointing out a better, and possibly cheaper, alternative I would look into converting from MM EFI to carb. Just throwing it out there. Don't get your undies in a twist about it.

Just pointing out a better, and possibly cheaper, alternative you obviously are unaware of.

OP wasn't looking to buy a module..
