One comment stood out, thanks to Max Headflow, quoted above. I didn't get into the wiring, other than to unplug two connectors from the tank. I never took out the ignition switch, didn't need to. I was at my wits end and was going tp call HD and have them pickup the bike.
Well, for ***** and giggles, I removed the ignition switch, inserted my alignment tool, and the bike started right up! I put the switch back in and I'm good to go.
Thank you Max for pushing me forward, thanks everyone for their comments. I learned a bunch. Love this communuty.
