Remove VIED before installing FP3?
I just bought a FP3 from Fuel Moto. It’s scheduled to arrive tomorrow.
I’m going to install it on my 2009 FLHTCU. Primarily to richen the mixture to try to cool it off a little and also to have the ability to enable features like Jiffy stand switch and EITMS. Local Harley dealer quoted me $89 just to hook up Digital tech software and enable side stand switch that I installed over the winter.
I am currently using VIEDs that don’t seem to do much other than generate occasional error codes 🤣
Does anybody know if I should remove the VIEDs before installing the FP3 or turn them all the way up or down?
I’m sure I will eventually remove them but I’m anxious to try out the FP3 and would like to just plug it in and try it without the aggravation of cutting tie wraps, removing ground wires, etc.
Thanks
Tom

Thanks for the replies and advice.
I removed the VIEDs and installed the FP3 yesterday.
I connected with Vance and Hines support this morning and downloaded a couple of tunes. No test ride yet.
I won’t be doing any more upgrades on this bike and the FP3 should meet my needs.
FYI I bought my FP3 from Fuel Moto but they don’t provide support or tunes.
Those have to come from Vance and Hines.
If I had known that up front I would have bought the Dynojet tuner (assuming I could make changes to the “system switches”). I was not able to find that information.

Best to stick with what you had/have if the bike runs good. If not it, would definitely be best to get a P/V or TTS, if available, take it to a qualified dyno tuner to properly tune your bike.
As you’ve found, the least expensive way to try to tune your bike may not provide you with a good running bike.
