'02 Softail 98" motor, 9.8:1 compression, (3.6-3.7 gearing = 22 tooth comp. sprocket)

Need a recommendation for a better than average battery with *****, (preferrably 350+ CCA), that will fit.like the stock one. Can anybody recommend one?

We'd like similar info. Got a 2006 Dyna with less than one hundred miles on it and the battery won't stay up past a couple of weeks without riding the bike....

 

mikengina, your solution is...........RIDE THE BIKE MORE THAN EVERY COUPLE OF WEEKS!!!

velocity, look into compression releases and different pinion/ring gear ratios......... usually those high CCA batteries are good initially, or for 2-3 attempts at starting, but if it gets old (6-7months for those batts) or you crank a little more than usual, the batt dies and leaves you stranded.................... high output batts are usually more problems than they are worth.

 

I bought a Harley AGM sealed battery 7 years ago. Before that, I never got more than 2 years out of a battery. I think it is 300 CCA.

 

Did you put a more powerful starter on when you did your build?
