My laptop took a dive when I was downloading in to the ECM and yes it mess it up, (I have try everything to get it working nothing works) took it to the dealer and they are too stupid to reflash the ECM so now I have to get a new ECM which means that I need a new SERT. We know that the SERT marries to the ECM of the bike is it possible to go in to the SERT module and change it so it will accept a new ECM? It is just electronics and we should be smart enough to get around this Harley BS. Has anybody had any luck doing this?

my dealer told me that when they have this issue Harley has warranted both units. Perhaps you can talk to your dealer. I would also think that if the new ECM was flashed with your VIN that should take care of the problem, but then again that would require too much forethought on the part of HD!

 

I has a similar problem and took the bike to the dealer. It was an 07 so I had them download the "903 Download Upgrade". That took so then Idownloaded my SERT MAP and all has been good since.
