I want to remove the battery from my bike,a Sportster 1200 R 2005. I'm able to remove the +terminal but i can't remove the - terminal,i check in the owner manual and they said to remove the - cable from the base of the engine,i see the little nut but the wrench i have can't reach the nut i try with a box but it take a long one and it's difficult to reach because of wire s and hoses also i'm not sure of the size it take ,let me know what you do to remove yours and with wich size box ,i think it's a 7\16 but not sure. Thanks for your help...[:@]

Strange problem, you can't get the negative cable off the battery posts? Is it stripped or something at the battery?

The oil tank block the access to the - wire on one side of the battery, we must disconnect the - wire from the base of the motor and it's really difficult to reach because of frame, wire and hose . I'd like to know the size of the nut .

The nut size is 11mm (go figure on an americian Icon) Best get to get the nut is a basic universal joint, extension w socket and reach it from the right side of the bike with it on the jiffy stand - it helps to magnatize the wrench set up (15 - 20 strokes with an old speaker magnet). I had a problem whith my battery going flat, so I asked the dealer and they oked me changing the ground location to the left side case - the ground there is an easier get - I just switched those wires to the origonal battery ground.
