I have a 1995 Sportster 1200 , it was stored in the garage (WI.) with a battery tender on it. 2yr. old batt.

I went to start it and it turned on the lights and tried to start like most yrs. First time in the spring. This drained the batt some so I put a regular charger on it that I always use and charged it again.

While trying to start it there was a spark I think from the positive connection batt to charger(thinking maybe the charger connection grounded ? )

Now even with a full charge on the batt. I get nothing when I turn the key,

no lights , no speedo or tach lights just nothing.



Any thoughts on where to start with this ?

check battery termination and voltage. then check master fuse. if the system supply is tapped off the starter positive lug, check termination.

just remembered a few months ago mine would do nothing and the issue was in the headlight bucket. unplugged the connectors and reconnected and everything is back to normal.

 

Don`t bother troubleshooting until you know the battery is fully charged and in good working condition.

Make sure it is fully charged and have it load tested.
