I’m about to get some engine work done on my ‘15 road glide. I’m currently running the older Screaming Eagle Race Tuner. I was told that
nobody will be able to use that when I upgrade my engine. Has anyone else heard of this? I know Harley quit making this particular type but
I didn’t think it would become useless.

SERT = Screamin' Eagle Race Tuner original - race tuner - black box, did not work on 2015
SEPST = Screamin' Eagle Pro Super Tuner - Black or orange box with button and LED - Worked on 2015 - no reason it still would not. Unlimited adjustments.
SEPST= Screamin' Eagle Pro Street Tuner - Black box with button (forget if they had orange) - Very limited Adjustments.

You need to determine which of the last two you have. If it is the Street tuner, it won't support heavy modifications other than specific Harley combinations and you won't be able to really use it for full tuning capability. If it is the Super Tuner it will work fine.

Ed, Thanks for the input. I guess I need To look at my box and determine which tuner I actually have.
I could of sworn it was the race tuner but that’s been 6 years ago.

Six years ago it could have been the orange Screamin' Eagle Pro Super Tuner, part # 32109-08C. That one will continue to work as long as you have the software for it and a computer with the correct connector for the cable. You won't find any new tune files for it, but it does have nice tools to build your own auto tune file from running it on the bike.

I have the software running on Windows 10 t64 bit.

Actually the same cables work on the 2017 and newer bikes with the Pro Street Tuner (to maintain Warranty compliance).

I have it running on XP. It's more than a capable tuner to use Smart Tuning. Only problem is it's hard to find anyone that will dyno tune with it except dealerships now days if you want to use it with a dyno.

Quicktime Motorsports in St. Peters will tune with it. The do street and race bikes, have some of the quickest turbo Busa's in the whole midwest.

It's not that they can't, they won't tune with it. They want to sell you another tuner you don't need. Look around your area. There are some out there that still do. It's a good tuner more than capable. Or learn to smart tune with it. That's what I do and mine is tuned just fine.
