2013 Harley Fat Bob- Engine would not turn over fast enough to start than you can hear the starter solenoid kicking in in out. I charged the batter last night and brought it to be checked and was told it strong. Any ideas how to check the starter
I pulled the spark plugs and it spins free now I'm wondering if it a timing problem.

 

How old is your battery and how was it tested? It could still show strong voltage but weak on amps.

 

Don`t buy a starter...

Don`t get distracted by timing etc....

A clicking solenoid is a dead giveaway of insufficient current to the starter.

Troubleshoot...

How was battery tested?

Battery cable connection points clean and secure (both ends of cables).

Battery charged in good working condition (over 3 years old toss it).

Do you have a voltmeter?
