Question New ECM Module for 2021 Bikes?

Read in a couple of posts that HD uses a new ECM module on its 2021 bikes. I haven't hear about this change. Is it true? Why the change? Any detail information?

Yes it has a new ECM. They updated the hardware . If that was all they did it would be a good thing. They also change the software in a way to try and lock you out. Couple of companies have broken in and can do just about anything that needs doing with out HD. but still a long way to go .
Word is Power vision will be the next to release a tuner that will get around HD.

Also needs a completely new cable for connection as well. All designed to keep you out and make sure the bike runs lean to meet EPA govt. standards

They changed the O2 sensors as well. Unfortunately they are not backward compatible. Steve Cole made some comments in another thread that the new ecm was an evolution of the old ecm. If I remember correctly, the 20 and earlier ecm s were at their limits in technology, so a new design was needed to accommodate bikes in the future. Several companies including TTS, PV have maps being tested by their associates. FM said maps might be available before Sturgis.

Any reports that HD will make the new software IOS (Apple) compatible?

They have been tuning 2021 with the Centurion technoreaseach for a while now. They had the ECM beat in the first quarter and soon after were updating the Units software

From what I understand HD hasn't got any software on the 2021s for any operating system yet.

Hd has the SE Pro Street Tuner, had it for a couple of months according to my part guy, I have the Techno Research tool, and tuned 1 2021 bike with it last week. worked just fine, did not try any of the other diagnostic stuff with it yet.

My bike is a 2020 but the Technoreaseach has all the 2021 updates in it so far. they have been tuning 2021 with them for a while now. I did not want a 2021.
