Default 25% gain in mpg

The following relates to UK gallons which are a slightly bigger volume than US gallons, but the percentage increase would be the same for both.

My stock 07 RK Classic with 7500 miles on it was getting about 40-42 miles per gallon, town, open road (80mph), 30's, etc.

I stuck on a ANBS, Screaming eagle pipes and SERT, loaded a canned map, increased the fuel via the clb tables and sucessfully reduced the heat.

Outcome is I am now getting 50 - 52 miles per gallon for the same type of mixed riding.

All I can figure is that the stock AC and pipes were really choking her up, and she was not running efficiently.

Nice bonus.

ANBS = Arlen Ness Big Sucker (Air intake)
SERT = Screaming Eagle Race Tuner (allows ECM to be downloaded with different settings for different set-ups, allows error code reading, and data recording so you can see what is happening in several diferent areas, eg., engine temp, air intake temp, AFR (air fuel ratio), ingition advance etc. etc.

A search of the site will give more info than you can shake a stick at.

I maxed out all the clb tables, as advised elsewhere on this forum.

I dont think that alone will do much to the mpg, in fact it should make mpg go down, its the fact that the motor breaths better now and is using a completly different tune to standard.

Dont forget that 1 UK gallon is 1.2 US gallons

That would be about 41-43 mpg US.
My FLHPI (SE, stage 2, PC3, Rinehart true duals) gets 36 town 1up, 46 highway 2up @55, 32 highway 2up@ 80mph.

Forgot to add it's a 95" with gear drive cams

I get 40 (city) to 50 (highway) mpg (U.S.) using a tweaked PCIII map.
